By the 1970s Australian-Lebanese communities were maturing through the establishment of a range of religious and welfare organisations. George Khouzame worked for the Voice of Lebanon Newspaper as a Journalist.

On the 26th January 2015, George Khouzame was awarded the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) for his contribution to the Australian-Lebanese Community in NSW.
